FOR ACCEPTED INTERNS

If you have been accepted into the STEP-UP Program for the current calendar year, please use this page to find important deadlines as well as downloadable forms and abstract/presentation examples from the previous years. Do not hesitate to contact your program coordinator if you have any questions or concerns about any of the forms, assignments or deadlines. The 2025 National Symposium will be held August 3-7, 2025 on the NIH campus in Washington, D.C.

Late March/Early April

  • Deadline for Statement of Acceptance Form indicating acceptance/decline of STEP-UP internship

  • Deadline to submit Welcome Packet forms indicated below (Our office must receive the original, notarized copies via postal mail)

    • Participation Response Form

    • Parental Consent Form

    • Photographic Release Form

    • Participant Contact Information Form

    • Rules and Guidelines

    • Assumption of Risk

    • Medical Form

    • WH-1 Form 

    • W-8BEN Form

    • Additional Information: Lab coat size, school calendar, copy of passport/ID​

 

May 

  • Complete and pass the Online Training Quiz

  • Complete any other training requirements required by your mentor

  • Begin research with mentor

 

Early July
